Officer Carla Renaldi [LAPD: UTF] ([personal profile] officerrenaldi) wrote2011-12-10 11:45 am

One ~ Introductions.

[Carla's been here since the flood folks. She's been here since the flood and you might have seen her walking around in her policeman's uniform. With her hands behind her she looks...far too professional for it to be normal. Her badge is polished, hair professional.]

I have been reading through the network, I have seen the psychosis, and I don't...don't give a shit.

The sheer number of people bitching is outmatched only by the number of people telling others to shut the fuck up.

However, as a duly appointed representative of the Undead Task Force and by extension the LAPD I am... [she drops her hands slightly, hitting against her knee.] here to inform you that as a warden I will listen, I will care, and I will do this job to the best of my ability. Human, meta human, insect, reptilian, vampiric, or undead, we at the UTF feel that you are entitled to all due protection under the law. I'm Carla Renaldi and I am here to- [she rolls her eyes] make sure all of you are safe.

[She looks distinctly uncomfortable for a moment before she shuts the feed off.]

A little bit of this and a little bit of that. Casual change of scenery.

[she shrugs] You?

[identity profile] lovewheniwin.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly, I couldn't say. [Cause no one has his file yet...which he wants.]

I'm fairly certain I should be dead yet, from what I hear, this place is like a detour of sorts.

[identity profile] officerrenaldi.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what I was told. Rather then passing go and collecting 200 dollars you're taken directly to jail.

[John-John had made that joke.]

How do you like it so far?

[identity profile] lovewheniwin.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly, it's far from what I'd consider a jail, but I'm not about to complain about it.

I've seen prisons where meals are whatever is unlucky enough to crawl into the cell with you.

[identity profile] officerrenaldi.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
San Quentin?

[she smiles, amused]

[identity profile] lovewheniwin.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
[He gives a laugh.]

Had I been there, perhaps I'd be more vocal about the situation.

[identity profile] officerrenaldi.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Ah.

[she shrugs] well, so far everything here's impressed me.

[identity profile] lovewheniwin.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
Have you had a chance to explore everything?

[identity profile] officerrenaldi.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Not quite. Wandering around during the ah...events kept me busy.

[identity profile] lovewheniwin.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if you want a guided tour, I can offer you my help. Unless you'd prefer a fellow Warden do the honors.

[identity profile] officerrenaldi.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Carla...smiles]

...Why sure. We're here for you guys.

[identity profile] officerrenaldi.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
I am actually. I was grabbing a coffee.

[identity profile] lovewheniwin.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
If you want, I can meet you up on deck and we can work our way down through the ship.

[identity profile] officerrenaldi.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Fair enough. Up there in ten?

[she wants to get the inmate perspective. In ten minutes she's leaning over the deck-in uniform and pretty visible.]

[identity profile] lovewheniwin.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
[Naturally, Rourke will arrive in uniform as well, pleased smile on his face.]

Officer.

[identity profile] officerrenaldi.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Carla takes him in. Military crimes she figures. Her dad bitched about Oliver North enough for her to have a basic knowledge of it.

Dad was ex-military too, and it was for that sake that she stuck a hand in her pocket and offered him one. Her handshake's firm.]

It's nice to meet you.

[identity profile] lovewheniwin.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
[Rourke's definitely evaluating her, though he technically started back while they were talking over the network, but nothing beats face to face interaction. Returning the firm handshake, he nods.]

Same to you. What was it that caused you to choose to become a police officer?

[identity profile] officerrenaldi.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
[Somebody's playing "Let's gather information." Her expression didn't waver. She shrugged.]

Surprised to see a girl as young as me doing it?

[identity profile] lovewheniwin.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Not as surprised as you might think.

[He comes from a time when women were expected to wear corsets and stay at home, yet he personally trained a woman to be his personal lieutenant.]

[identity profile] officerrenaldi.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
[She shrugged] That's kind of enlightening.

Indulge me. A lot of people think of different reasons. What's your first guess?

[She stood up straight and did her best to appear perky-delightful and cheerful and cute. Swallowing inwardly. This guy was smart.]

[identity profile] lovewheniwin.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm. There could be any number of reasons, as you said. If I were to hazard a guess, I would say that you were a lot closer to your father growing up than your mother.

[He knows that both Helga and Ramirez were close to their fathers and both turned out much like their fathers. He doesn't appear to even notice the cutesy act.]

[identity profile] officerrenaldi.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
[Damn he's good.]

You would be correct. My father and mother were both police officers. [so were her brothers. All of them. It's a very blue-collar family]

[identity profile] lovewheniwin.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
So it's in your blood as well. Certainly nothing wrong with that. My father was in the Army so I followed in his footsteps.
