[Carla's been here since the flood folks. She's been here since the flood and you might have seen her walking around in her policeman's uniform. With her hands behind her she looks...far too professional for it to be normal. Her badge is polished, hair professional.]

I have been reading through the network, I have seen the psychosis, and I don't...don't give a shit.

The sheer number of people bitching is outmatched only by the number of people telling others to shut the fuck up.

However, as a duly appointed representative of the Undead Task Force and by extension the LAPD I am... [she drops her hands slightly, hitting against her knee.] here to inform you that as a warden I will listen, I will care, and I will do this job to the best of my ability. Human, meta human, insect, reptilian, vampiric, or undead, we at the UTF feel that you are entitled to all due protection under the law. I'm Carla Renaldi and I am here to- [she rolls her eyes] make sure all of you are safe.

[She looks distinctly uncomfortable for a moment before she shuts the feed off.]

Honestly, it's far from what I'd consider a jail, but I'm not about to complain about it.

I've seen prisons where meals are whatever is unlucky enough to crawl into the cell with you.

[Carla takes him in. Military crimes she figures. Her dad bitched about Oliver North enough for her to have a basic knowledge of it.

Dad was ex-military too, and it was for that sake that she stuck a hand in her pocket and offered him one. Her handshake's firm.]

[Rourke's definitely evaluating her, though he technically started back while they were talking over the network, but nothing beats face to face interaction. Returning the firm handshake, he nods.]

Same to you. What was it that caused you to choose to become a police officer?

Indulge me. A lot of people think of different reasons. What's your first guess?

[She stood up straight and did her best to appear perky-delightful and cheerful and cute. Swallowing inwardly. This guy was smart.]

Hmmm. There could be any number of reasons, as you said. If I were to hazard a guess, I would say that you were a lot closer to your father growing up than your mother.

[He knows that both Helga and Ramirez were close to their fathers and both turned out much like their fathers. He doesn't appear to even notice the cutesy act.]

You would be correct. My father and mother were both police officers. [so were her brothers. All of them. It's a very blue-collar family]

So it's in your blood as well. Certainly nothing wrong with that. My father was in the Army so I followed in his footsteps.
